I’m framing in the area under the basement stairs to create some storage space. I’m planning to have a few different size doors here, the largest being about 6′ x 2′. They will be simple flat painted doors. What is a good material and thickness to use for this. I saw some nice 1/2″ MDF at the store, but I don’t know if this is suitable.

The most common way to make your own parging mix is to use either Type S mortar for block or Type N for brick and add a concrete bonding additive.
