In D.C. They would get $125.00 Each. I think there was something called 'The Canal Company' in Old Town Alexandria? May or may not still evist. Some mantles went for 5K.

We were in Old Town Alexandria in '95...Overpriced but funky...
Carole,
It was near the Potomac River. They moved around a lot. Not sure they even exist anymore.

Chuck,That name sounds familiar, but I couldn't find anything on Google. Was in it the north end of Old Town, not too far from the power plant there?Best,
Steve

Nice...
Forrest,
Nice photo indeed!
If you are ever looking for a place to add to your door collection, you could try the Brass Knob here in DC.

I went in last year to pick up a clawfoot tub and bumped into Norm Abram flipping through the mantles. They do have some beautiful doors there, I recall some 10 or 12 foot ones that could have been gorgeous with a little work. Fortunately my wife hustled me out of there before I could get to scheming. LOL
Best,
Steve
