Double Pocket Door — Is it Better to Use One Track or Connect Two?
I’m retrofitting a double pocket door in an old house and want to use Johnson Hardware’s 2020 rollers and their heavy 200 series I-beam track. For 2′ double doors Johnson recommends buying 2 4′ track kits and using a separate kit to connect them. But wouldn’t it be better to buy an 8′ track kit and an extra pair of rollers?
I’ve never done this before and just want to be sure I’m not missing anything. I’m going to frame the openings myself and so don’t need the frame kits. I apologize in advance for how stupid this question might sound to you. Thanks!

There are few stupid questions.
A long time ago I had a question about one of their products.
I contacted them and asked.
They replied and I made a purchase.
Over the 50 yrs a carpenter, I’ve found that to be profitable.
Over those same 50 yrs, times have change and if you get lucky, you might make contact with someone that knows the product …..
If you do try it and talk to someone who knows……please come back and fill us in. Might help someone’s search later.
Thanks... they hadn't replied to my email but I called and was told to leave an inch and three-quarter gap between the rails for servicing. So a continuous track is not recommended.
Cheers,
Will
Well don’t that beat all.
Wish everything went the way it used to…..
Good luck, pocket door (single) is part good material, skill and a dash of luck.
Dbl doors are a whole nother thing. Here’s hoping for a beautiful meeting of the rails!
Thanks Calvin, fingers crossed!
