douglas fir or southern pine lumber in new england

Is there anywhere in new england that sells, and more importantly stocks, anything other than SPF for KD dimensional lumber? I don’t need enough at one time to order a whole palette and all anyone stocks around here is SPF. I got lucky once and snagged some SYP 2x8s when a nearby lumber yard had an order returned. Home depot carries douglas fir but only in 2×8 and up and I don’t really trust their stuff anyway. I’m in east MA but I’d probably drive 50 miles and back to pick up some better quality lumber for a project.

Here in NW Ohio most framing lumber is SPF. Occasionaly Hem/Fir.
A good lumber yard should be stocking the quality you are after. Big box store? Only if it was Sunday, it was an emergency, or my MIL (RIP) forced me.
the yards can only get what's available "locally" - if you're on the west coast with forests of Doug Fir, you'd have it - call them and they can usually special order (at an added cost)
other question is what are you building? Some of the newer engineered framing products may fit the bill better than solid framing stock
Just some Saturday morning thoughts
good luck
I'm set for what I'm working on now. I just have a hard time finding SPF lumber that's not twisted or chewed up. Might be a problem with supply right now. Plus my house is built out of doug fir lumber that seems a lot stronger and straighter than SPF and I don't like replacing it with weaker wood.
In western CT, all the yards stock Doug fir. The only place you'll find SPF is the big boxes.
