Downdraft cooktop ventilation cleaning

Client has a 15 year old Dacor downdraft vent system. Regardless of having the horizontal duct cleaned annually, throughput is greatly reduced.
This may not be the right place to ask, but do you get to a point with these things where you have to just take it apart and clean the ductwork above the bend to horizontal?

I'm amazed that a Dacor fixture has lasted for 15 years. But I think your right that you will have to take it apart and do a thorough cleaning. Good luck!
