Dream trailer epilogue

ANDYSZ2 | Posted in Tools for Home Building on September 25, 2009 02:10am

I found the trailer on Ebay last week and won the bid on Monday morning.

I left Monday evening for Fenton, Ohio got there at 6 am Tues.Got title and bill of sale and headed back got home Tuesday at 7 pm.

Worked Wed then Wed night I transferred all my stuff from old to new trailer finished up Thursday afternoon.

I definately had more room but the coolest thing was it rained off and on all night and hardly a drop working under the swing up doors.

    second try.

Well loading the collage has proved more difficult than loading the trailer.

You know, I thought I might get that.

I turned down work earlier this week.

I'd hire you so i could have that cool trailer in my driveway!

Not sure if it is posible but if the chopsaw could slide out with outriggers it would be way cool!

Then you could get longer lumber on it.

So the sliding chopsaw is on sliders! "There are three kinds of men: The one that learns by reading, the few who learn by observation and the rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for themselves."Will Rogers

          1. ANDYSZ2 | Sep 26, 2009 04:57am | #8

I am still in the engineering stages on my chopsaw.

The tracks were a four channel aluminum bar that I have from a custom ladder rack that a fifth grade educated man built for people in town. His buddy held the patent for the  extruded aluminum design.A 3/4" bolt head slides in it on two faces allowing you to tighten a nut.

The idea of a slider mount to slide the saw in and out of its store mode is a great idea and I will incorporate it soon.

The trailer has a small door at the front and the whole back comes up so any length lumber is possible.

The tracks allow to incorporate adjustable supports and stops.

I am also going to build bases for sander, drill press and bandsaw with cleats on bottom to set into the top groove of the al bars.

Nice trailer. I didn't see where the beer cooler was though.

I should warn you that epilogue threads aren't allowed anymore. According to the new standards, this thread will be tossed just like the squirrel thread.

I hope his trailer thread runs over my squirrel thread :)

I believe that is the name of his company and the trailer line.

Bill is a super nice guy and I can't say enough about the engineering skill he has shown in the trailer design or enough about the quality of build.

Also you would think it would attract attention from other contractors , but it seems to fly under the radar and I think that is a good thing as would be thiefs don't know what it is.

Now all I have to do is remove all the decals advertising it.

Thanks for the link to that poorn site!I'm still breathing heavily! From what they say about "only $220/mo," I take it it's about $7.5K or so. Or $10K with $2.5K down. Is that about right?AitchKay

When I talked to Bill this summer he wanted around 8900 at that time I thought I was going to inherit  a collection of figurines worth way more and was told to sell them to buy the trailer.

As fate has it the figurines were not nearly as valuable as my Mom thought. So all hopes were dashed.

But since my mom's death things have been going really well and it's like she is looking out for me.

So there I was looking for a better cargo trailer on  ebay  just vegatating when I found the trailer i have been lusting for years  and I just so happened to have enough to cover the minimum bid.

Anyway to make a long story a little shorter I got trailer for original bid and I can't be happier.

That's fabulous, Dude. The extra steps and operations that we take on every day often go completely unnoticed, and therefore un-billed-for!Having everything right there, with a max of 10 min. or so setup, will pay back very fast. Will that trailer save you 15 min/day? (DUH!) If so, you're breaking even at $220/month. But more likely, it's saving you 1/2 - 1 hr./day, and you're now hauling in that extra money!YOU GO, GIRL!!Er, sorry about that, I meant, "Good for you!"AitchKay

Andy, great news on your trailer.

To help keep the number of threads from getting completely out of hand, it's better to post follow-ups in your original thread.  This one went on long enough without being noticed that it won't be deleted, but as a rule that's how we deal with multiple threads on the same subject.  If you can't find your original thread, click on "View All Messages" or "Messages of high interest" at the top left of your screen.

    Thanks--

    Mike
