Tamarc there is a bust right now last I heard They (the resort itself) is at a complete stand still. I know what you mean I did some work a few years back on a friend's dad's cabin, up in McCall he had a few things needing finishing (a basement bath and other stuff), he did not trust any one up there to touch it, so he hired me to go up.

You done with the 16th st. house? Drove past on Sunday and at a quick glance it looks like it is waiting for warmer weather to get a coat of paint on the old lady and that is about it.

Thought so.  I've been on top of them and all around them.  Awesome place.

<since BT was the vehicle that brought the clients and I together.>

Can you elaborate on that some Don?

Also, did your offer in the BT classified net you any carps?

    Just curious.

    Thanks

A little over a year ago I posted this:  http://forums.taunton.com/tp-breaktime/messages?msg=86663.1  After a few more e-mails and phone calls, took a trip to Boise to see some of Don's projects as well as drive over to Driggs to check out the site.

By the way, the trees in the picture aren't there any more.  The previous owners run a nursery and had about 5 acres planted in little trees.  They removed them about a year after the sale.

Thank you Katie.  Very interesting and way cool that you were able to use BT toward that end.

Good luck and many well-wishes with your build. The best reward for a job well done is the opportunity to do another.

Thanks for the positive thoughts--I'm sure they'll be needed on occasion over the next several months!!

Never ceases to amaze me how the internet has affected our lives.  I've gotten to where the internet is the first place I look for anything--including almost everything related to adopting our daughter--so made sense to look for a builder on-line.

Now if we could just transfer a little of our New Mexico weather up to Driggs....!

Yes, for me the internet has had an entirely positive impact.  It's make getting my education easier, faster, and more practical.  Let's see if I can still say that when I get back from GA next week!

BTW, good luck with the adoption.  I always have felt honored to have been "chosen" by my parents.

Snowed all day here in Driggs.  The patches where the snow had already melted, the new snow melted quickly away.  Still enough snow in patches to ride the snowmachine in the pasture yesterday though.  If you haven't been to your site recently, i drove by ealier this week and there is still a foot of snow there.

          3. katiewa | Apr 25, 2008 04:05pm | #18

I keep watching the weather--figures that the year we decide to build it's be a long winter!!

My first year in Idaho Falls there was still snow on the north sides of buildings on June 7.  I had moved there from the San Francisco area and thought I was going to die those first few years!  Then I got acclimated--I just hope that next winter is as good as this one's been!

By the way, if you haven't met him yet, Don et al. were going to try to be out there starting yesterday.

I used to drive through Driggs four times a year going to art fairs in JH in July and August. The area had a good vibe for me so i'd stop for a coffee or gas in town, but i always...always...hit a swarm of something at the edge of town that smeared the windshield like a mixture of oatmeal and epoxy. Driggs gets the best heat lighting shows you'll ever see in the late summer.

Good luck with your build. It sounds like a great match-up with both of you having excellent communication skills to start the process on the right foot.

I have an acquaintance (stayed with him only once, skied with him a couple days) who lives in Driggs.

    Paul Brabanek.

He flies remote control gliders over the mountains and passes, and has photo capability in them.

    Amazing photos.

    Maybe you'll run into him.

I keep checking in to see if you or katie have any new photos to put up.

Edit: I guess i'll take that as a "No". Strange...
