I recently purchased a Makita hammer drill (display model,- half price). I usually have problems with keyless chucks, so I tried to replace the chuck with a keyed one. Looked down inside the chuck to remove the screw and it looks like it’s riveted ??? Checked my neighbor’s old B&D, it’s the same. Aren’t the blasted things repairable any more? I know, I probably should have held out for a Hilti, but I don’t use one enough to justify a pricey one.

Keeping HVAC systems within the conditioned enclosure can be tough without a basement; one option is to use plenum trusses for the roof, which offer a space for equipment and ductwork.

Not sure about your drills. I guess anything is possible for how they are assembled.
I broke a current model Dewalt 18volt cordless drill about 2 years ago. It's keyless chuck was excellent in my opinion. I had a new Black and Decker corded drill that had a keyed chuck that kind of sucked. I took both off and put the keyless one on the Black and Decker. Both had the same shaft and threads for the chuck. As I recall the fastener was a torx head or allen head.
Most chucks are removable [this info. is in the instructions that came with the drill], you didn't get them when you bought the display, DID YOU?. Your best bet is to call Makita and ask. I know that most people on the net hate phones, but that may be the way to go, luck.

Sh**T. I hope this isn't a trend....

Always remember those first immortal words that Adam said to Eve, “You’d better stand back, I don’t know how big this thing’s going to get.â€
I found an illustrated parts list on-line. They claim it's a 6X22mm flathead screw. None of my metric allen wrenches will fit it. I'll try a torx next. Or a bright light and magnifying glass. It sure looks like a little round hole to me.
