Ok, this has got to me very very basic, but….
I am trying to drill a hole through doubled studs in a corner for romex. I have a stud about 8 inches away from the corner studs. I can not get a drill or an 90 degree hole hog between the corner studs and teh stud 7 or 8 inches over. If I put the drill into the 14 and 1/2 inch space one more stud over and use a 6 inch bit extension w/paddle bit it will not quite reach teh corner. (I think that is teh problem? .. at anyrate I have a paddle bit and a six inch extension and it will not bore my hole. a 12 inch extension would be too long. I think I need an 8 inch or a 10 inch extension, but HD,Sears, Lowes, Harbor Freight, ACE , True Value, and a couple of independend tool houses only sell 6 ich and 12 inch extensions.
Is there a trick I can use for get these holes? Would an electrical supply house sell a special bit?
??????????????????????????????????

Cut a 12" extension down to
Cut a 12" extension down to what you need. I'd use a angle grinder with a cutting disc, but that's not the only way.
Impact!
I use an impact driver with Irwin Speed-Bor max bits. This arrangement fits in tighter cspaces than the usual drills.
When there is not enough space, I place the impact in the next bay, drill there, then use quick-change extensions to make the needed length. I can add or remove extension even when the bit is already in the hole.
