The gutters on my mothers house let a lot of water run behind the gutter and drip down the facia. I’d like to fix it before the trim is damaged.
It was reshingled a few years back and has a drip guard. The gutters are aluminum and are nailed into the facia with integral metal tabs and sit about an 1/8 of an inch off the facia board
I ran water on the roof and watched it roll down the shingles and by capilary action on to the drip gaurd and then on to the edge of gutter a fair amount runs behind the gutter. It is more of a problem where the gutter is sloped down to the drain spout and there is a lager space between the drip gaurd and the gutter. What’s the fix? Is the gutter up there wrong or is there an additional guard I could install to channel the water into the gutter.
Thanks
