I finally had someone available to stand back and take a few pictures of a curved stairway being brought in and set into place.
I did this one last Tuesday.
Please excuse the blurriness….we were moving fast!!! ha
You can see the newel posts being installed after its in the foyer. It took a lot of careful twisting….grunting..to get the stairs in the air….then rolled over into place.
This was an easy one as we had a double wide door. That stairs would actually go through a 24 inch doorway.

What is that wood?
Nice.
Is that steam-bent poplar for the stringers? or how did you get that curve?
inquiring minds want to know.

Great pics Stan. Had been hoping to see the process in more detail. Thanks.
Gotta admit tho', if I'd been one of those guys helping haul that critter in I'd have had steel toed boots on.

As always, its nice to see your work in progress!
I have a question, what is the darker brown area where the riser meets the tread, on the underside, at the wall? My eyes are not that good.

I never tire of seeing your work. If that glove would have fit OJ as well as your stairs fit to the wall OJ'd be in jail right now.
