I remember the discussion last year about painful, dry, cracked skin, especially on the fingertips. Nothing I have tried has worked as well, not even super glue, as something my husband picked up at Walmart last week. It is called Zim’s Crack Creme and it works. Can’t put it any better. They even have a website, complete with their picture (two pharmacists) about 40 years ago when they developed the stuff, and today, somewhat older. Go take a look at it, it is worth going to just to read the testimonials. www.crackcreme.com

The discussion was last year. I can't find it right now, but the real consensus was that those pariffin baths work really well. I was sufficiently convinced that I went and bought one.
The wife and I agree--They DO work.
*I use something from Furst-Mcness that is much like bag-balm. overnight healiong with instant relief. But stinks like all getout. Wife can't take me out wearing it.
*AStrin..........From the ladies section at the RX or Wal-Mart, a foundation and moisturizing cream called "Eucerin".Does not have an odor, loaded with moisturizers, stays all night, works well. I'm even allowed to sneak my hand under the sheets and "rub my wife's back"!!!.....................Iron Helix
*As dumb as it may sound I find that Sno Seal boot treatment works very well, I use it on spot applications and usually once is all it takes.
*Glycerin
*Go see your favorite veterinarian and get a jar of the cream they sell to dairy farms for treating chapped udders on cow's. Don't laugh - it works so great your wife will steal it for her skin.
*allaround........They now sell a version of that at most Wal-Marts...Called "Udder Cream". It comes in a plastic jar with spots on it.
*Udder Cream is a joke. Bag Balm is better, but stinks. I got some Pulvex veterinary ointment at the Tractor Supply Company (TSC) that works well and has a great wintergreen smell. Tried mink oil waterproofing and it worked ok, but it stinks too.
*I did a search for "Pulvex veterinary ointment" and came up with several sources, including this one.http://www.todaysdog.com/FirstAid/Pulvex/pulvex.htmlI just might give my vet a call and try the stuff.Ken
*aveeno lotion. best ive used. My hands look like alligator skin w/o that stuff. NO smell, no greasy feeling and lasts a long time. Better then the animal/farm products that are basically petro jelly.
*Astrid,I'm trying Zim's Crack Cream. Just got some today at Walmart. If that doesn't work, I'll try the Aveeno lotion that Wm Phelps suggested.Where does one purchase Aveeno lotion? Never heard of the stuff.Ken
*i get it at wal-mart. The aveeno products are top notch. i first tried the shaving stuff now im hooked on the lotion too.
*If you find some stuff called corn huskers lotion, it works as well or better than bag balm, without the stink.
*I gotta agree on the Eucerin creme. I worked many years in the auto industry, and we used some very strong degreasing chemicals all the time. The chemicals would dry out and crack your skin to the point of bleeding. I tried everything under the sun, but had the best luck with Avon products (some kind of deep moisturizing creme). My wife came home not long ago with some Eucerin creme that someone had given her, and I tried that. Been using it ever since. James DuHamel
