I just ordered this sander
I’ve needed/wanted one for a while, but was reluctant to spend the money on the P-C. This will work with my Fein vac for dust collection.
I’ll let everyone know how it works when I get it.

You don't have to sacrifice historical elements of a house in the name of energy efficiency.

Looks like a chiwanese knock of of the Porter Cable. Hopefully, it will be of high enough quality you can get your moneys worth out of it.
Now you got me hoping its really not a Chinese knock-off.
the couple of reviews I was able to find makes it seem like its a bit better quality than the P-C.
I'll know in a couple of days.
Just an educated guess.
It looks really close to the same. The PC has been around for quite a while, (I think long enough the patents are expired), and continues to sell.
Put a PC in a box, ship it to chiwan, and order a thousand like it in another color.
Month later you're selling them on the net.
I'd be surprised if it really is better quality than the PC, mine seems to be unbreakable. And, I use it for a few off label things, like floor sanding. I have lubed it a few times, and changed the brushes though.
Hopefully, your's will be of equal quality, and last longer than your career.
I read a couple of reviews where guys said the drive shaft on their P-C broke. But I don't know how hard they pushed the sander.
This one says it has a lifetime warantee on the shaft. I realize that's only as good as the paper its written on, OTOH I don't expect to give this thing a lot of heavy use.
I have regreased mine a couple of time. You can feel the machine start to get sluggish, as the old grease stiffens up.
FYI,
the Fein vac. hose works perfect on the end of the PC sander.
Anyone in MI needs one, I've got an extra PC drywall sander I'd let go for $175.00
It's used and looks it, but works just fine.

If you don't quit buyin' everything on Craig's there won't be anything left for the rest of us.

You gotta jump when you see stuff...I really don't usually buy something unless I need it or can replace or upgrade something I've already got.Picked up at Lowes the other day a new Bosch 4100 saw for $355 (clearanced at $419, Plus 15% off for display)Sold my well worn 4000 saw and ended up with the new saw for about $80 or so.Can't stand having duplicate tools sitting around (unless maybe routers...)JT
I'm just an hour south of the "worlds greatest tool liquidation ever".
I've come up and got some stuff. Missed out on some too, 'cause I can't get there fast enough.
My greatest loss was a $300 panel saw. :(
I still keep my morning schedule open, and check every morning.
I made $2000 one morning coming up and buying my dump trailer. :)Remodeling Contractor just on the other side of the Glass City
I replied to a listing for a few bar clamps. I knew there was at least a couple Besseys plus a couple Jorgy F-clamps.I was gonna be near by so I didn't go out of my way too much.Got there and see a Jet tablesaw in the garage along with a few other things.Ended up spending about $160 and got about $1500 worth of stuff.JT
Whether running a Fein or any other vac, I put it behind an Oneida Dust Deputy. Since doing so for my shop vacs, there efficiency has gone way up. Vacuuming drywall dust used to require cleaning filter every few minutes and noting the drop in efficiency over those minutes. Now I can go hours because my filter are only seeing about ten percent, or less, of what they were before.
Sanding drywall to just a pleated filter is a recipe for slowness as you've found out.I use the paper filter bags for my Fein and they keep the dust from clogging up the pleated filter. You can sand all you want to the capacity of the bag with no issues. The Fein bags, unlike their other items, are pretty reasonable. I've been able to find them for as low as a 3pack for $8-9.JT
Hey...why doncha buy the vacuum too....I'd like to know how that thing lasts too...while yer at it...although for another cpl a Benjamins you can get the Fein I reckon

I already have the Fein, so there wasn't too much decision making about buying that other vac.
yeh but why ruin the Fein....kidding...kinda...it's a real catch-22 sometimes.

i was just ready to pull the trigger on one of those and happened across a used pc. they are imports but i think they'll be fine if it's not a deal of using everyday, who knows maybe the p-c is made in china too.
i would like to have their little handheld drywall sander, but it's pretty high in comparsion.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T
MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE
DUCT TAPE.
