I’m putting up drywall, 5/8” Type X, on a garage ceiling. The walls are all block. The problem is the sill plate will be exposed between the drywall and the block. What’s the best way to handle this intersection? The color change on the block is from the crown molding that originally covered the sill. Just don’t think that’s up to code.
Thanks

Is this attached to the rest of the house?
What part of the codes are you worried about?
There is living area above. Will the exposed sill void the fire barrier? If so what can I cover the sill with to complete the barrier.
the wood part of that wall needs to be covered with at least half inch drywall.
You can use more of the 5/8, and use a J bead for a nice edge.
