Ducted Mini Split Intake and Outlet in Adjacent Roofs

I get ducted concealed mini splits for living room and adjacent bedroom. The indoor air handler are placed in the upper part of the closet between the two rooms.
Can I have the intake vice versa, meaning the intake for the living room in the bedroom and the intake for the bedroom from the living room.

    Only if there is a free exchange of air between the two rooms.
