I am going to use Durock for the walls around my tub/shower. The seams should be sealed with a coat of thinset and fiberglass mesh tape imbedded in the thinset. Will the regular drywall fiberglass self-adhesive tape work or is the Durock brand fiberglass tape a must in this application? There is a BIG difference in price/ft.

Everyone I know uses the drywall fibergalss mesh tape.
I compared the two, and there is so little of difference in the thickness that it won't make a bit of difference.
I don't use their screws either. At $10 a pound (here anyway) they are too much.
