There is a post asking if durock is a good material. Nobody is answering and my thoughts did not post. Anybody use this?
My 2 cents is that it looked, on video, too cushioned to use for tile.
Listeners write in about ground-source heat pumps and weatherstripping and ask questions about engineered siding, concrete that slopes the wrong way, and why houses have pitched roofs.

Note that "Durock" and "Durock membrane" are two different things. The former is a brand of cement board tile backer. The latter is an isolation membrane.
Durock tile backer was one of the first of its type and has a good track record. Isolation membranes have been around for 15 years or so and, to my knowledge, have a good track record. Don't know about Durock membrane in particular.
