We are in the initial stages of planning for building an energy efficient home in the Piedmont of North Carolina. I am writing to ask for resources to learn more about this topic(i.e., passive/active solar, etc…). I have also done reading on steel framing which seems like it may be a cost-effective way to get open/flexible floor plans. Does anyone know of resources related to framing solar homes in steel? How about the cost effectiveness of adapting plans for timber or balloon frame construction to steel framing? Many Thanks, Jeff |
