Effective Length – round to rectange 90
I am installing an OTR microwave and I need to use a round to rectangle 90. The effective lengths listed in the install manual do not include an effective length for a combo 6″ round to 10″ rectangle transition 90.
Does anyone know what length I’d use in my effective length calculation?
Thank you !

So the transition piece that I have has a 6" round inlet and a 10"x3+1/4" outlet and is an elbow.Sorry I thought the 3+1/4 was standard... this is for a stud bay so has to fit within a 2x4 wall.
Picture says a million words right.
ca not open that with this less than stellar dial up I have...
the pic will time out...

Not sure the hardware store labels it an angle boot. It looks like the CRD boot in that link except quite a bit more compact.

got it...
they make a real compact version of that...
hurcules carries it.. hart and cooley also...
if clearence is the issue.. can you cap the end of the rectangle and install yur 6" thru the side wall???

alternates..
straight boot and a 90...
tap thru the side wall of the rectangle...
stack boot...

I have the compact angle boot. My question is what is the effective length of the angle boot. I am trying to make sure I don't exceed the 140 effective feet. My install instruction say a 90 for 10" is 25 foot, a 90 for 6" is 10 foot. A transition is 5 foot but no where does it list an angle boot. Do I assume 25 or maybe I average the different 90s and add the transition for 22.5 foot.
compute for a 90*...

compute for a 10" 90 or a 6" 90?The first is 25 foot, the second is 10 foot or average them?
