Hi!
I noticed this deep crack near my egress window the other day. I can’t tell how deep it goes but it looks like some water may have gotten in and froze, creating a cavity of sorts inside. I was thinking of trying to fill it with some kind of concrete. Also I noticed a crack in the foundation where the window meets it. Are these things we can address ourselves? If yes, what would you recommend? If no, what steps would you recommend we take? Thank you!

You call this an egress window, looks more like a window well that is failing.
Most of these around here are more of a metal retaining ( half culvert” to keep the fill away and a gravel fill at the bottom to drain.
Hey there! It's great that you're proactive about addressing these issues. For the crack near the egress window, filling it with concrete can be a temporary fix, but it's essential to address any underlying water drainage problems to prevent future issues. As for the crack in the foundation, it might indicate structural concerns best assessed by a professional. Consider consulting with a foundation repair specialist for an evaluation and appropriate solutions. Safety first!
To call this an egress window is wrong. Someone might take this as a way to allow a bedroom to be constructed in a basement.
You might be able to get your cat to safety in case of emergency through that venting window.
