I need to replace an electric baseboard heater. The original, a hydronic type, was made by Intertherm (Nodyne). The line was purchased by Cadet.
The one I want to replace is rated at 2000 watt. Cadet does not make a 2000 watt hydronic model only the standard baseboard type.
My question is “does a hydronic type perform better than the standard baseboard type when compared watts for watts.
Thanks

define "perform"
is it more efficient?
No.
up to about 99.9999%, electrical heat at the device is a no waste proposition.
Other appliances not so because the waste electricity is spilled in the form of heat energy. but when the goal is making heat in the first place, there is no waste for practical purposes.

"Hydronic" and "oil filled" electric heaters have exactly the same efficiency as units without the liquid-filled feature. Presumably the liquid does slightly reduce the temperature variations as the thermostat switches the unit on and off, but the effect is slight.
