I have been living in the house I bought 11 years ago. Last winter, the baseboards on the North side (not on the South side) of the house started to tick noisily when they were heating.

They are electrical, not with heated water or oil and with no fans. They are all the same brand throughout the house and have all had the same installer and treatment!

1) Is there anything I can do to stop this very anoying noise?
2) Why the North baseboards and not the South?

I would really appreciate a solution and guidance as people I have consulted say there is nothing to do other than buying new baseboards.
