Here in NW Oh., you are responsible for maintaining and repair from the meter base into the home. Our service runs underground from the street for 500 ft to the on the ground transformer, then underground 75 ft to the house and meter.
What does your provider say?
You need to talk to your electric utility. They generally dictate where the meter can be located.
