I installed a wood floor around 4 PVC rough floor plugs in concrete. The homeowner called and stated that after the electrician came through and installed the brass top plates, the rough edge of the floor was still showing. Can a larger plate be installed with a bigger lip over and how big do they make them. I have not had this problem before. The homeowner was having problems with the electrician and I was thinking that he just put down whatever he had without aiding the problem. I haven’t seen the job yet. Need some ammo. I remember the PVC being 4-6 inches wide. They were large plugs. GW

In older homes like these, the main remodeling goal is often a more welcoming, more social, and more functional kitchen.

I can't speak to brass, but I just finished a kitchen remodel for my son and he bought some double cover plates in white plastic (decora covers) that were too large. They were oversized. So, my guess is that these would also come in metal (meaning brass as well as others).
Another option would be to make a shallow wooden cover that would act as a middle ground between the flooring and the actual cover. Perhaps a 1/4 inch thick or so.
