Hi All!
Can anyone tell me if the electrical building code specifies how high an electrical outlet should be on a wall? I am building 4 foot kneewalls in the attic I am finishing and would like to build open shelves into them. I plan to put the outlets along those walls above the shelves to take advantage of the small wasted space there. The outlets would be about 3-1/2 feet off the floor. Would this meet code?
Thanks,
Norm

The only limiataion in the NEC is that outlets higher than 5 1/2 ft don't count as part of the number of required wall outlets.
Some local codes might be more restrictive, but in general you are OK.
... and attics have no specific requirements, unless a habitable room or equipment area.
