Hi,
I am working in Panama and using a Rigid 18 volt lithium battery drill which I brought with me. The charger died and I can’t get one here very soon. So I bought a lap top charger with varialble output voltages up to 24V thinking that would do the job at least temporarily. Using a DVOM, I am verifying polarity and voltage but it won’t charge, even on the 24V setting. Any ideas on how to get this turkey to work? On the battery, besides the + and – terminals, there are T1 and T2 terminals which I assumed are just temparature feedback to limit the charge once the battery gets hot…? Thanks, Jon

Unfortunately, a lithium battery needs a special charger. There is circuitry internal to the battery that must be satisfied to allow charging. And it's apt to be fussy.
Charger...
Laptop batteries are lithium too but obviously something is different. I remember taking a drill battery apart awhile back and there was a fair amount of circuitry inside. I knew there was a possibility it wouldn't work...
I just went ahead and ordered one-it will be here in about a week. Funny how you get used to conveniences.
Thanks for the confirmation, Jon
Yeah, this is one of the disadvantages of a battery tool.
