Hello,
The supply line to the detached garage is sheathed cable from the panel, through a basement window frame and into a 1″ EMT 90 degree junction. 4 strands run though the EMT to the garage. When the new furnace was installed last week the coring guy punched a 2″ hole in the concrete for me to move the wires, since we’ll be replacing windows. The cable and electric meter wire run through the frame too.
I was thinking of putting in PVC box (for water resistance) but have not worked with PVC boxes before. Is there a way to tie in the NM cable and EMT. I do have a conduit bender. The attached pictures show what I have to work with.
Thanks,
Adam

Use a metal box. You need to bond that EMT.
There is an exception that allows you to use bonding bushings on all entries but I am not sure why you would want to.
Are there outdoor specific metal boxes? I haven't looked to see what's at the big box stores but I'm in Calgary and I know there are electric supply houses around.
Yup. any NEMA 3R is outside rated. What size do you need? You said 1" conduit?Something like this might work for you.http://www.dale-electric.com/detail?itemnumber=36420
Looked at the Morris web site and that looks like exactly what I need. I hope the radius of the bend will let me line up the inside center hole to run the wires through the wall. Wish I'd had the box when the coring guy was around. I've seen the single gang boxes at big box stores. So if I get this box, how do I secure the NM cable on the inside? Do I just put a bushing in the interior hole to protect from sharp edges?I could probably dig up a short length of conduit and put another box inside.Just about anything will be better than the way it is now.
If the wire is in the 1" raceway you don't need to secure it where it goes into the box. Just use a 1" male adapter and thread it into the hub on the box.
