Hello, I’m located in Boston suburbs of Massachusetts. I have an enclosed front porch which has seen better days, probably original to the house (1935). It leans a bit forward (this may have been by design for runoff if it were originally open porch & later enclosed), some missing windows, some are not a weather-tight fit. I am in the process now of trying to make a plan to do a full renovation / improvement of the porch (some re-framing underneath is probably likely, new support / foundation system, etc) – my question, is does anyone know if state code is going to require me to insulate this space? Unfortunately I’m right on a main street so it’s pretty unlikely I can get this done without a permit. I don’t plan on having any HVAC out there if it matters

I would consider this - if you're going to be serious about how you reconstruct this porch, think about when WOULD be the best time TO insulate it. It may not be of benefit to you, but it may be of benefit to the prospective buyer(s) down the road.
Couldn't tell you what the MA Code or local official would require - maybe call the local official and ask?
