Which one of the systems are you interested in? I installed one deck with the t&g plank. I see today they changed the detail on the waterways. I was not impressed back then with the product nor the customer help. That was a few years ago, they are still in business so maybe my bad taste was a fluke. The product was light colored and did stain. Some work took care of the stain. Homeowner is still satisfied.

Timbertech is the product I'm thinking of....
Do you have any info on that particular product? Or do you have a suggestion for a different and possibly better one?
Appreciate your comments! Thanks - Rowland
Rowland, I have done only minimal deckwork. Of the "board" type, Certainteed's product boardwalk is my favorite, with trex not far behind. Good gription and color, easily shaped. In the tongue and groove style I have only used Timbertech's. This was a while ago. They have since changed their waterway holes in the tongue which might make it go together better. I had problems getting a good pleasing to the eye fit. Succeeded in getting a tighter fit (not too tight or you risk buckling from expansion) by crushing the tongue's split end a bit. This under the advice of the homowner who wished it to look more closed up. I did have a summer of expectation waiting for it to rebel, but it has held fast for 4-5 years. This deck was on an enclosed/half screen porch. The stain problem was kid eating related, you know.......lots falling on the floor. Simple Green was finally a product that cleaned the grease stains. I don't remember a problem with red wine.........
I have never seen but one vinyl decking product in use. This T&G plank was slippery in the winter as I found out. I've been to trade shows where all the products are highly touted as being the best. Sorry I cannot advise on something I haven't put down. Hopefully you'll get more replies.Remodeling Contractor just outside the Glass City.
