*Opps! picture
*Not as pretty as a deck but it is keeping me out of the rain for now.Plumber and Electrician are finishing up today then I get to insulate tomorrow-Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!
*Still an entertainment area - you'll be doing bedrooms next.
*Bob: Hows the entertainment room coming? Just missing some of your great pictures.
*Stan- We had a couple of glitches.1. 2 1/2" of rain in 24 hours, water seeped through the wall . Had to pay $250 to have a guy coat the wall with some rubbery gray stuff.2. After the floor was all dry the plumber cut the line to hook up the wet bar sink, before he blead the 500 gallons in this 3 story house.I had dryers goin for a week.Things are back to normal now(remodels are so much fun)Here is a post out of plumb-the builder lost his level I guess.
*Son hangin rock
*Soffits
*Son getting poked by a sheet rock screw. I hate the slivers you get from them little buggers. My other son is mudding this week. All round corners and smooth wall.more pictures laterBob
*Looks good. Thats nice having your sons involved. Are you going to be putting in surround sound and all the hi-tech stuff?
*Stan-yes on the surround sound, that is what all those speaker wire boxes are all about. Thanks for following along.Bob
*Rear soffit and speaker wire
*My son- Mr. Sandman
*Pro-Dek:What's this 'rubbery gray stuff' you speak of? Did they spray that on the inside of the walls? Also, quick question...do you put a vapor barrier up on the external walls? (Though I suppose the rubber stuff is technically the vapor barrier.)
*Darrel-I wish I knew on the sealer,I'll find out and let you know. No moisture barrier required. Paper side of insulation goes toward the outside wall which acts as a moisture barrier here. In Eastern Washington where the climate is much colder they put plastic on the inside walls before sheetrock.Bob
*Pro-Dek:Thanks. Don't worry too much about finding out about the grey stuff. I was just curious.BTW, I forgot to mention that the basement is looking great!
*Hey Prodeck- good to have sons -no?Mine tied off durn near all the receptacles on my Texas job. I showed him how once- And he did everything he did perfect. I showed the 42 two year old owner three times and had to redo every bit of wiring he touched. Stop Helping! Please!
*Pro-Dek:Eastern Washington? For some reason I thought you were in the Michigan area. It's appears far too late to seal the outside of the block basement wall, which would have prevented "minor" water seepage?I grew up in SE Pa and dad was the builder. It became my job to "seal" the outside basement walls prior to backfilling the areas. No pretty job there but we used apprx 5(5gal) buckets of roofing tar applied with a paint roller and brush on a typical 2,000 Sf home at the time.I thought it was great money(1974-5) at the time, but a nasty job. Twenty bucks cash for 2 hours work, and I was outta there partying that night. I covered everything, but it took hours to get clean after the first job..LOL
*LOL Doug - But it is my kids that teach me how to do things in alot of cases.Ken- I'm in Western Washington- the water seepage was caused not by lack of outside sealer but where a plumber put a sewer pipe thru the wall and used Quickcrete to seal around the pipe.Michigan? Where's that?Is that where they ice skate on all those lakes?
*Installing cabinets-this is the sink pump
*Bar cabinets
*Staining pieces for raised panels-varnish tomorrow
*Bar panels
*glue sniffer!
*Paneling-ledge will be formica
*Beer taps are in- I will mount them to a barrel end later.
*Great work, Pro! Looks like you're just about ready to Dek the halls... Are the Dixie Chicks playing opening night?
*lookin good Bob-whats up with the high drain line?
*Greg- Not sure about the drain line elevation? It probably was all that was required to hook up to the main sewer line.
*Bar and refer Hole
*Lighting
*paneling corner
*view from bar
*laminate on bar
*laminate on small wall
*Bob: Excellent work! However, I am not the least bit surprised after seeing your deck work. I didnt know you did inside work as well. Please stay away from stairways and Illinois! Again----nice work. Stan
*Thanks! Stan-I built a deck for this customers next door neighbor this Summer, and promised I would finish their basement this winter. It is nice to get inside during the cold rainy season.I'm starting a deck in 2 weeks, then another basement remodel. My bread and butter is decks so don't worry about me trying to build those beautiful corkscrew stairs you and Armin make.Have a great Christmas!Bob
*Bar rail
*wine racks go under right counter
*bartenders view
*Closet and rear speaker
*Bob: Nice work as usual. Your pictures actually are in color, not like the ones I post. I need a new camera. What kind do you have and what resolution are you sending. They load fast, but the resolution looks real high. Mine are too grainy.
*Thanks Stan- My camera is a Nikon Coolpix 990 3.34 mega pixel-takes up to 2700 pixel per inch. It very seldom takes a bad picture, even with lots of back lighting on the subject. If you need more info, send me an e-mail. Bob
