Is it ok to put spar varnish on the outside of a fir entry door and a coat of shellac or urethane on the interior side? I read an article in FH recently on door finishing but shellac was the only thing that was recommended. I think I need spar varnish on the weather side of the door but not sure if two different types of finish coats will be okay for opposite sides of the door.
Thanks,
Brian
