I’m probably 5yrs away from building my own place, so I have no rush in making any decisions. I’ve read a good deal about these “Envelope” sytle passive solar houses over the last 12 years. Some think their bunk and a superinsulated standard house is just as good, some swear by it. This outfit seems the most commercialy viable I’ve seen so far:
