I just epoxied my hanger floor…and wow…that is some strong smelling stuff. I had a charcoal respirator on…but the fumes lingered into the stairshop even though the door was closed…and it has its own hvac.

Was it hard to do? How much did it take?

Floor and Bird look great! I bet that it will fly sweet like the little OH-6's I drove. When I had the FBO the owner had told the contractor he would not paint the floor so he used a curing agent. He later decided to paint it, Epoxy then poly, then more coats everytime it looked bad in a short period after.
Came off like peeling an onion. I finally stripped, pressure washed, scarified, acid etched, neutralized, the whole deal and repaint with epoxy. 18000+sqft.
Looks nice.
What do you think of the epoxy now that it's done?
Smoother?
Easier to sweep?
Stairmaster Jedi,
What's the part in #945????

You would make Roger Penske proud...........unbelievable beautiful bird. More pics. stinky
I am by no means a painting expert. I just wanted a slick floor like some of the aircraft hangers I have been in...so I checked into this rustoleum industrial epoxy.
It was easy to do...wash the floor...muriatic acid treatment to etch the concrete. By the way...I purposely held off sealing the concrete because thats not good with epoxy.
The rest was just mix it up...let it set 1/2 hour and then I had 2- 3 hours potlife.
It took 3 kits to do the room which is 28 ft. x 34 ft.

Boss- I really like it after it was cured. It is very easy to sweep...no dust coming off the floor now.
I like the fact that I dont need a creeper anymore....my back just slides on that floor!
Recko- That part in pic #945 is my rotorhub that just arrived. Even though I am building this helicopter...the critical parts are all done by the factory. That hub is a work of art to see it in person. It has to hold thousands of pounds of centrifical force...yet let my cyclic easily rotate each half changing the pitch of the blades.
