Thanks for the reply Terry - I was beginning to think no one had an answer !

My rolls of tape are 250'
Take total sq. ft. drywall divide by 1000 times 370' equals lin. ft. of tape divide by 250' equals # of rolls.
This is based on 370' of tape covering 1000 sq. ft. drywall. Joint Compound 5 gal. covers 1000 ft.sq.
I have formula's for almost anything in average house so feel free to ask!

Jeff,
Great offer!...Feel free to list all your formulas as I never really made a single list of such and would love to compare my methods with your's
Thanks in advance,
Jack : )
*I always found a bucket for every 10 sheets (4 x 8). I three coat and feather out pretty wide. Seems to work out pretty close to that.

I'm trying to write a spreadsheet to help streamline the estimating process. One thing I can't seem to get a handle on is how much drywall mud to estimate.
Anyone have a rule of thumb for a relationship between total drywall square feet and 5 gallon buckets of mud ?
