I am a painter turned Painter contractor. I Know how to get a rough estimate for how long something will take, but my question is how others do it. How much do you add in for profit? How much do you add as a buffer against unseen problems? Do you increase the price for oil paint or interior verses exterior? Any info would be appreciated.
Cheers

I'm not a painting contracter (I'm a carpenter) but I find myself doing a lot of painting. You need to charge more for oil paint just because of time and money spent for cleanup and materials.
Painting is not a job , it is a method that some people use to defer the costs of hunting, fishing and drinking!!!!!!!!!!!
