estimating programs for newbies.

Hi All

Is there an estimating program available that a person who is relatively new to construction and or renovation can get pretty close?
I am thinking about trying out a person who used to do commercial landscape estimates and design but wants to get into constuction. I am good at construction and renovating but I have never really been very good at or enjoyed estimating.
