I am considering my options for the walls in a new shower and have come across Johns Mansville GoBoard. The price point is very good as a mid-option to using Kerdi compared to cement based backers. I am using a Kerdi shower base.
GoBoard is Polyiso compared to Polystyreen and that is what is driving the question. I am familiar with both, but not in this use.
Does anyone have direct experience with the product or perhaps some information on the differences. Not finding much in my research.
Thanks
Ron

"The" forum for tile advice is johnbridge.com. Looks like folks over there have used it successfully.
I would pay particular attention to where you are joining the GoBoard to the Kerdi pan since that's where two "systems" are interfacing. If it were me, I'd probably stick to Kerdi-band and Kerdi corners for that intersection, since you know those work with the Kerdi pan and will likely work with the GoBoard (since thinset sticks to GoBoard and Kerdi-band is installed with thinset).
Thanks. I am planning on using the Kerdi-band and corners for the joints with the pan. The drain system comes with the corners so I only need to buy a roll of the band material.
