Exposed foundation board protection
I am looking for suggestions on how to cover the waterproofing and foundation board (+ insulation) that I carried to the top of the foundation. The foundation wall is poured concrete, the waterproofing is Tremco Tuff-N-Dri system – sprayed membrane, and 2 3/8″ (R10) foundation board.
The foundation board is not designed for exterior exposure, so the portion above grade has to be covered. Shoot a mesh over the board, and then parge over it?
See attached photo.

What about the siding? Cant you just cover it with siding?
Family.....They're always there when they need you.
I had my sheet metal guy bend up a coil of colored flashing that I used to trim mine out with. check out the pics. I've heard architects talk about the mesh/parge approach, too. I think mine was 3 inch polystyrene. Good for earth contact, but not long term exposure to sun.
I believe you have to hold the siding back from grade for a a variety of reasons. Besides, I am going to go with Hardie Planks and it would be quite a project installing them over the concrete through the board.I have been thinking about some kind of metal sheet along the lines of Cleless1's suggestion, though have not yet figured out the details. Hoping to get more input.
I did a similar thing to Clewless' flashing but I think that it should extend further up the wall. We get alot of rain here so I extended it 4inches up the wall.
I get the flashing. Am having a hard time visualizing the whole thing assembled - flashing all the way around where one would normally see concrete. Pictures any one?
I posted pics ... during and then after the siding was on. Had about 1-1 1/2 inches up under the siding I think.
