I have a 32 foot extension ladder made by Flint of New Haven, Conn. They are out of business, but were taken over by Lynn Ladders of Mass. Lynn does not handle any Flint parts anymore. I need to replace the rung hooks, and cannot find any manuf’ers who have parts to fit. Even tried a costom maker/repairer suggested by the Ladder Institute, but with no luck.
Does anyone have knowledge of where I might find replacement hooks?
Thanks.
Phil

I think they're also called dogs.
I'm going to bet that you won't find what you are looking for from anmy manufacturer. The reason is this; I know of more ladder accidents caused by bad or misused dogs than any other single cause. Supplying replacements could open up a world of liability that is further complicated by the fact this original manufacturer was absorbed by Lynn. I'm sure they bought the profit potential and blue sky but not the liabilities.
look on the bright side. Even though it's not as much fun as buying a new router or cordless drill/driver, you need a new ladder every few years anyway.

Just think of it as having two good 16 footers.
Uh-oh. I'm calling OSHA. Obviously you can't read, or have chosen to willfully ignore the clearly printed safety instructions on the ladder sections. Man are your rates going to go up. Don't know why, but there is a label on the fly section (the ladder, not your pants) that says not to use that section separately. Anybody know the reason?
Do it right, or do it twice.

Probably because it doesn't have the right kind of feet.
So he's now got one sixteen footer and one potential chicken ladder..
