Hi Everyone-
I’m in the planning stage of adding and extending decking to a front porch. Currently the “porch” is a 36″ X 144″ concrete stoop. I’m planning on extending it to 96″ X 144″ using TImber tech. Currently there is 2″ of clearence between the top of the concrete and the bottom of the door so I can’t build up the height of the deck beyond the 2″. I was planning on drilling lead anchors into the concrete and then screwing the deck boards down into the anchors. I have used this process in the past (using cedar) with good results. This is a total PITA to get everything lined up so that it looks neat. I was wondering if anyone had a better solution, especially since I’m using Timber tech Earthwood. Their specifacations call for 1-1/2″ air space minimum. I can’t build any more than 1/2″ of air space. This area has a roof and will fairly protected from the sun which should help.
Thanks for your help.
Brian
