I’m going to be replacing an exterior door and storm door. The existing opening is not flashed properly so I’m planning on starting from scratch with the rough opening and following guidelines for flashing details.  The drip cap on the Larson storm door is more of a gutter than a drip edge. I’m wondering if I should plan for extra depth for the head/cap flashing of the door so that it clears the plane of the storm door drip cap or let it drip into the storm door drip cap.
