We have an 1890 Victorian home with multiple covered porches which need repairing. The original construction that supported the the roof was with solid wooden 8″ round columns that sat on 2×8 framed boxes, which in turn was fixed to 1×4 T&G fir flooring. The flooring has been decaying. My question is with all the new types of Trex products for flooring available, is there one specific type(s) that will support the weight of the columns and allow me to rebuild the porches, copying the original construction format? Will the product resemble 1×4 T&G?
Thanks for your advice>

Thendura
Tendura was bought by a company called CorrectDeck and continues to manufaturer a modified product although they no longer offer a paintable product if you were intrested. I also believe Trex is in the game now with a tongue and groove porch floor. I've done the old Tendura and I tell you it looks beutiful 2 years later and I chose the painted product.

The Tendura was never intended to be painted. You could do so if you wanted, but it came in two colours - natural wood tone and grey, with the colour same through and through.

Tendura is made to replicate the fir porcch flooring. That company was taken over by another - Correct-deck I think.
Yeppers - they call it correct porch now

Anything will handle the load if you frame so there is solid lumber under the post / column location. Anything can fail if you miss that detail

Azek also was/is in the tongue and groove porch flooring market. Their claim was that it did not have to be used in a covered situation like the Tendura/Correctporch did.
I am finishing a new front porch, after much research, I decided on 1 x 4" T & G IPE flooring. It cost a little more than the composites, synthetics, but we really liked the color variations. And it is a very strong, stiff wood.

Like the porch but I LOVE the steps. Thanks for the pic.
