I do not know the proper name for it but I want to complete some millwork over my exterior windows. I have looked at many old homes but haven’t seen any designs I liked. Any idea where I can locate something to give me ideas. My home is colonial style. Thanks.

Try old house journal. Also try to drive around some older neighborhoods and stop and look at the trim details. Then you can take pictures or make stetches of the trim that you like. Next go to a millwork shop and see if it is a stock item. If not they can make anything provided you have the money. Maybe some old (real old) sears catoluges may have some detail in them as well. These would be at flee markets.
