I certainly hope that you backprimed the cedar which will break down the Tyvek in a surprising short time. Yes on backpriming window casings - there is no reason not to other than the cost.

*Yes, the reason is that you want the same coating and resistance to moisture getting in or out all the way around. Otherwise, one side will expand or contract differently than the other, and the piece will warp.-- J.S.
