I would like to make some exterior raised panel doors with split panels (i.e., the interior panel will be backed up against the exterior panel, but able to move independently. Has anyone used this technique? Did you use any foil or reflective material between the panels?
Also, I need a source for metal interlocking weatherstripping. Thanks

If you can't find interlocking weather stripping, I found spring bronze at...of all places our local True Value Hardware store.
I mention this because there was a thread a while back on how difficult it is to find spring bronze weather stripping for doors.
Our front door uses the interlocking stuff on the bottom and spring bronze on the other three sides.
The kitchen door is missing the door part of the interlocking strip, compliments of previous owners.
I would like to find a source myself.
There was an excellent how-to article in FH, which I need to find.
Try FHB 126, pp 80-83.
Oh, and, um, speaking of exterior wooden doors, I built the arts and crafts style door behind the screen door on the table of contents in the new issue, 149. It's about the only thing in my house that's finished.

Yes, Andy, that's the article !
It ranks as one of the most useful in my book.
Can't wait to see the door you made.

"Someplace" I saw an article where they did that. They used separate interior and exterior plannels with some foam between them. I think that the foam was ridgit.
