i have a question for experienced framers. I have just completed the first story to a two-story home and had to stick frame all the walls because of a poorly poured slab. This took us twice as long as conventional framing. It was totally necessary to keep the floor for the second story flat and level. Am i right to bring up the matter with the General as an extra since it took longer and was not our fault? Am I right in asking for more money, or is this just “part of the game”? thanks for any input.

It seems fair to expect something for the extra work, but I always try to head off problems by informing the general before I proceed with it,but be reasonable as nobody should expect a hassle free job every time out. The general can and should pass your charges on as a back charge to the concrete finisher. Remember that other trades will be following your work and it will probably be measured with the same yardstick. The merciful shall recieve mercy.
*It happened to me last year. The concrete was waaay out of square and level. I showed the client the the result of a day's work which should have taken 2 hours.Charge him as soon as possible!!!!
