I just bought a lot and am going to have a house built sometime soon. One of the GC’s I’m talking to uses a factory built panelized wall system.(Not a modular home, just the wall panels are premade.) He claims it allows him to frame a house in less time with fewer people, which translates to saving $$. He also makes what seems to be a good point that in a factory situation the material and construction is easier to control..Ie studs are straight and dry, walls are square, etc. Anybody have any experience of thoughts about this? Having done some framing myself in my younger days, I can’t help but feel there must be a catch to this–it sounds too good to be true.

Engineered-stone shower panels are waterproof, but proper installation relies on tight seams and silicone sealing.

check the archives... use the search function...
generally this is good construction.. a lot depends on the experience level of your contractor
also... take all the upgrades you can get.. especially in the window package... and heating /cooling / domestic hot water options... and the roofing...
usually these don't look good because they choose the least options..
upgrade your siding .. stay away from vinyl SIDING...
IMHO
*Mike is right - This has been hashed over many times. Search on "wall panels" or "panelization" or maybe "panelized". You should come up with more info than you want to know.
