we’re in trouble down here. I am a residential framing contractor. we are now under osha standards for safety.this means fall protection in all exposed conditions over 10feet. this is a concession from the usual 6 feet . i can’t imagine putting up roof decking and rafters tied off. have considered tying off to my telescoping forklift platform.or there is the guard rail system.
what are other people around the country doing? i figure the inspections will start this spring and we had better be ready, as they take a punitive rather than an instructional attitude about this.
i have been doing this full time since 1976 i have never seen a man fall. to me the danger in residential is not that bad

I used a Yates harness and a sliding rope grab, with the line attached to a machine eye bolt attached by a steel angle to a rafter. But I'm a DIY, and afraid of heights. So, working slower wasn't a problem.
