I see lots of fancy cabinet pulls on eBay.
Thanks, Unc.
there was a guy that did hand forged hardware and I believe he advertised in the back of fine woodworking magazine. I believe he was in Costa Mesa or Irvine or Orange , california. Someplace in So cal.
Best bet may be to Google "drawer pulls" and/or "cabinet pulls."

Restoration Hardware has a decent selection, if not overpriced.
What type of style are you looking for?
Restoration Hardware - the store? I have already checked it out, selection quite limited, couldn't find anything close.
Looking for something more whimsical, or everyday kitchen objects, e.g. knife and fork, or something organic, e.g. mushroom, snails, twigs. Any lead would be appreciated.

Here are some if you feel like searching through the site.

Are those Amerock? Want something more hand made. Thanx.
"Want something more hand made. Thanx."
Time to hit the flea market and look through the old tableware bins.
Braze a threaded post onto the back of whatever you find interesting.
Good idea, thanx. Some beaten up twisted knife and fork, that's the kind of stuff I am looking for.
I've seen knife and fork pulls at the dreaded Home Depot
Didn't find what we're looking for.
You might give this link http://www.kitchenknobs.com/
They have a fairly good selection and carry the full Hafele line. Some pretty whimsical and offbeat knobs and pulls.
I don't particularly like anything that has to do with Home Depot, but "The Expo" chain of stores they have offers an astounding array of hardware. Trouble is there aren't too many of the stores around. Maybe they have an online presence.
I know the only Expo store in Canada is in Montreal which is 6 hours away. Do they have any Expo store in the States?
To the best of my knowledge they only have about 70 stores nationwide. I happen to have one about an hour away. I didn't think of them first, but when I became desperate for the all-matching brushed nickel hardware for 9 french doors on a recent $25k job I went in and they quickly became the vendor of choice for what I needed.
A google on hand made whimsical cabinet knobs and custom made cabinet knobs got lots of hits.
Starting with ebay which has ones from pink flamingos, to dinasours, to frogs.

Thanks Bill. I should be able to find something there.
Tom, Crown City Hardware in Pasadena, CA has a huge selection of high end hinges, locksets, knobs, and pulls. Check out http://www.crowncityhardware.com.
The website only has a little bit of their inventory. The printed catalog has everything.

Thanks AK. I found a site http://www.knobgallery.com in WI. Their entire catalogue is on the web. Nice stuff and reasonably priced too. I'll check out the one you recommended to see if they have something more expensive.:)
