Fantech Bathroom Exhaust Fans (Noise question)
Does anyone have experience with Fantech models NOT being remotely located?
Client wants the Fantech PBL2710L10V-2, which is a good choice given the large bathroom.
Issue is that the unit will have to be housed in the drop ceiling (plenty of space) given that the apartment is in a codo. (There is already an existing Nutone fan tied into the ventilation system. It is old, underpowered and needs to be replaced).
My main concern is the noise? If installed properly, will it be noisy? Client doesn’t need total silence, but does not want something terribly loud.
The other alternaive is a Panasonic inline model. But, the Fantech has a higher CFM and what appears to be a superior vent/light combo.
Thanks!

The Panasonic is very quiet. I installed one ina bathroom once and the client though it didn't work because he couldn't hear it.
I had the same problem when Installed Panasonics on a job. The client couldn't hear them. Me...I probably couldn't even hear noisy ones without my hearing aids. The down side is that the ducting needs to be fairly large. This could be a problem in a retro fit
Thanks for the input. Another quick question:
Client wants a fan/light combo over the shower. Panasonic does provide something like this -- a recessed inlet:

I am concerned, though, that this will reduce the intake of air and effectively reduce the CFM.
Any thoughts about this would be greatly appreciated.
The manufacturer's rated CFM number should be good, regardless of the design of the box.
Thanks!
noise?
Manufacturers product info should show the decible level.
FanTech does not have Sones ratings because they assume their inline fans will be installed somewhere away from the actual vents.
